THURSDAY 16 OCTOBER
Welcome to Cape Town! Make your way from the airport to the hotel and check in. Usually, hotel rooms are ready after 3:00pm, if you arrive earlier you can leave your luggage at the hotel. Protea Breakwater Lodge (a Marriott hotel) is situated in the heart of the V&A Waterfront district, easy walking distance to all race activities and surrounded by top quality restaurants and entertainment. Between 10:00-3:00pm our representative will be waiting in the lobby to greet you and answer any questions you might have.
FRIDAY 17 OCTOBER
This morning after breakfast we take you the short distance on foot to the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon Expo. Pick up your bib and explore the stalls before making your own way back to the hotel at your leisure. This evening join our welcome reception and enjoy drinks and substantial snacks with runners from all over the world. You will receive support and vital information from our team to make the most of your Cape Town Marathon experience and your stay in South Africa’s Mother City.
SATURDAY 18 OCTOBER
This morning after breakfast you are welcome to join us for a light shake-out run along the harbour and Sea Point Promenade. This will be at an easy pace and is a chance to loosen your legs. It will be no longer than 5km (approx. 3 miles). Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Consider using your complimentary Hop-on Hop-off sightseeing bus ticket to explore the city and surrounding areas. This evening join us for the pre-race dinner, which is included in the package, .
SUNDAY 19 OCTOBER
Race day is here! After an early breakfast, make your way to the start line. Our representatives will be in the hotel lobby to provide guidance.
After the race, recharge in the finish village, International tent. Meet up here to find your family and friends or meet them back at the hotel, only 10 minutes walk away.
This evening we'll meet up for post race celebrations, saying cheers to all of our runners on an amazing accomplishment!
MONDAY 20 OCTOBER
Unless you have booked extra nights with us then today is the day you check out of your room and say goodbye to South Africa.
