When Barcelona held the Olympic Games the city used the opportunity to re-invent itself as one of Europes great destinations - and many years on it remains an essential on the grand tour.
Spring is the best time to visit with mild temperatures and the city in bloom - which is also when the city hosts its own marathon.
The Barcelona Marathon starts at the Placa de Espanya at the bottom of the Olympic Hill - Montjuic - and takes in such famous sites as Nou Camp, Gaudi's Sagrada Familia and Pedrera and La Rambla before returning to to Placa de Espanya for the finish.

Fri 4 Mar: Choice of flights to Barcelona from regional airports. Own transfer by rapid rail service to Plaza Espania for the hotel.
Sat 5 Mar: At leisure in Barcelona. Race registration at Placa de Espanya.
Sun 6 Mar: Early breakfast then race start at Placa de Espanya - just outside your hotel.
Mon 7 Mar: Make your own transfer to the airport to meet your choice of flights.
Package price is based on flights from London Airports to Barcelona there may be supplements for flights from regional airports. There is a wide choice of regional flights available to Barcelona with EasyJet and other carriers. If you want to book your own flights we discount the full package prices listed below by £150.

We are pleased to be using the new 4-star superior Ayre Grand Via Hotel for the Barcelona Marathon, which is located at Plaza Espania, the start and fnish location of the marathon and the race Expo and registration - with a Metro Station next door the hotel could hardly be more convenient.
The hotel has a restaurant an bar while bedrooms are spacious, bright and modern in style. All rooms hae bathrooms ensuite, air conditioning, satellite TV, mini bar, in room safe and hardryer.
