DETAILS OF THE EVENT PASSED
On Sunday September 5 2010, the Rainforest Foundation UK will be holding its 10TH ANNUAL RAINFOREST 10K RUN in Finsbury Park, North London, N4. The event is an important part of the Foundation's fundraising calendar and a way the local community can help protect rainforests and their inhabitants around the world. In the past 20 years the Rainforest Foundation UK has helped to protect over 100,000 square kilometres of rainforest land for sustainable use by local communities. We are now working to secure protection for a further one million square kilometres of rainforest.
The event will start at 10.30am with a 1K Fun Run for kids under 9 years of age, where parents are welcome to run with their children, followed by a warm up for the 10K runners. The main race will start at approximately 11.15am. Entry fee for the 10K is £18 advance and £25 on the day, and the entry fee for the 1K is £5. Ribbon medals will be awarded to everyone and there will be trophies for the first three in each category (1K, 10K Female and 10K Male) Spot prizes and monthly prizes will also be awarded to the best fundraisers.
As well as the two races the event will also feature ethical food stalls, live music, children's entertainment and free massage zone, all encouraging a green and healthy festive atmosphere for everyone running or just coming along to watch and support.
